Antony Osso has chronicled his family’s immigrant experience and their decades of owning the beloved restaurant in “Pizza Shop: An Italian-American Dream.”

“When I first started making the film, my intention was to celebrate a community institution: my father and uncle’s pizzeria, which has been feeding families for decades,” said Osso, who grew up in Palisades Park and now lives in Manhattan.

“But when I looked at the footage more closely, I found an immigrant experience marked by isolation, sacrifice, and courage, and a success borne of hard work, discipline, and optimism. Watch Opening Of Rudy's In Closter Plaza

Daily Voice: CLOSTER, N.J. -- Rudy's Ristorante & Pizzeria reopened in its new location in May -- and a video documenting the ribbon-cutting ceremony is on YouTube. It's embedded above.

The new short doc, "Rudy's Ribbon-Cutting: the Big Scissors," appears on the Rudy's Facebook page, website and YouTube channel. This short video follows positive feedback for "Inside Rudy's," filmmaker Antony Osso's series of short videos celebrating his dad and uncle's beloved restaurant.

"I loved seeing the community come out and talk about what Rudy's means to them," Antony Osso explained. "Hearing our mayor, local politicians and longtime customers describe the positive impact Rudy's has had on the Northern Valley was really gratifying. I wanted to share that experience and capture this once-in-a-lifetime event."
